Despite this, Jani holds deep affection for his father and diligently strives to settle the debts and rectify his father's errors. In an unexpected turn of events, Srinivas gets entangled in a big legal crime, and Jani promises to recover the money to the people who lost their money because of his father. Meanwhile, Prakash gets out of jail and starts searching for his son. Will the paths of Jani and Prakash collide? How does Srinivas get to know the value of his son? The answers to these questions form the rest of the story.
Performances:
Sudheer Babu was neat and tried to give a natural performance. There is nothing to complain about his acting, and there is nothing to rave about it either. Sayaji Shinde was decent, while Sai Chand's performance was superb. Amani, Raju Sundaram, Shashank, Aarna, Annie, Vishnu Oi, and others were okay.
What worked for the film:
Maa Nanna Superhero's story, though wafer-thin, has the potential to be a captivating emotional drama. The emotional turmoil between the three main characters intrigues the audience during the first fifteen minutes. Director Abhilash Kankara's skill is evident in the interval episode, a few scenes in the second half, and the climax. Sai Chand's performance, adding depth to a few usual scenes, is a standout feature
What did not work for the film:
Though the film's plot is exciting, the execution fails to meet the standard. The initial phase of the movie goes on a dead slow mode, and it does not rise till the midpoint. After an interesting turn near the first half's end, one expects a better-transitioned second half, which does not happen. The road trip of Sudheer Babu and Sai Chand lacked the required feel, and it appeared overstretched except for one or two good moments. It is too late when the main turn arrives at the climax. Also, a crucial scene at the hospital during the pre-climax reminds us of a famous movie that derails its effectiveness
Maa Nanna Superhero Review and Verdict:
Maa Nanna Superhero could have been a perfect coming-of-age drama about a son and two fathers. However, the film was let down by lackluster execution and misplaced emotions (except for a few parts).
