Story:
Sanjay Rajkot, played by Salman Khan, is a noble and valiant prince lovingly referred to as Sikandar or Raja saab. He becomes a police target because of his clash with a powerful minister (Sathyaraj). Saisri/Rani Saheba (Rashmika Mandanna) fiercely supports and loves Sanjay. Sanjay arrives in Mumbai after a sudden tragedy. He meets three people: a Dharavi slum boy, an ambitious CA student restricted by her traditional father-in-law, and a college girl who is heartbroken in love. In the film, Sanjay aims to save these people from the Villain while transforming their lives positively.
Performances:
Salman looks bored and inactive. He simply stands in front of the camera and delivers lines just like that. Even in action sequences, his presence is ineffective. Rashmika Mandanna couldn't shine, and Kajal Aggarwal also gets sidelined after a better start. Sathyaraj and Prateik Babar fail to impress in the characters of over-the-top villains. Sharman Joshi fits perfectly as the hero's loyal sidekick.
What worked for the film:
Actually, nothing much is there to write in this segment. The basic storyline of the film is fine. A few dialogues in the first half succeed moderately.
What did not work for the film:
The biggest flaw in the film is its weak screenplay, worsened by Salman's dull performance. Audiences never engage in the proceedings, and even a shocking twist mid-way cannot evoke the intended emotion. It's best to say little about the Hero and Villain's scenes; their confrontations seem silly. The Hero faces no challenges, winning every time quickly. Salman's relationship with the three organ recipients doesn't appear genuine. The climax comes off as abrupt.
Sikandar Review and Verdict:
Salman — Murugadoss's Sikandar falls flat at every level, offering zero emotion or enjoyment. It doesn't have an interesting storyline, and the screenplay's failure to evoke emotions just drags it down more.
