Story:
Jack (Siddhu Jonnalagadda) is a talented person who prefers not to have a regular full-time job. His main ambition is to become a RAW agent. After going to an interview, he thinks he has landed the job. While this is happening, he embarks on a mission to catch terrorists. At the same time, RAW agents are working hard to catch a dangerous terrorist and stop a big attack on the country. The rest of the story follows how Jack joins the RAW team and plays a crucial role in stopping the terror plan.
Performances:
Siddhu Jonnalagadda tries to reiterate his performance from the Tillu Series, but except for a few moments in the first half, he could not impress. Vaishnavi Chaitanya is fine, but her character and the love track with Siddhu come across like Silly. Prakash Raj, Naresh, Subbaraju, and others are fine.
What worked for the film:
The initial setup of the hero's character is good. A few fun parts in the first half show Siddhu, aka Jack, taking on the terrorist gang and come out well.
What did not work for the film:
The main problem with Jack is it tries to mix serious topics like RAW/terrorists with a weird/fun characterization of the hero. This idea might sound interesting, but it needs a proper and convincing narration, which the film lacks in its entirety. Never will the audience ever get involved in the proceedings. Bommarillu Bhaskar mixes many things in the film, like RAW Group, terrorists, mother sentiment, and a wannabe Gen Z love track.
The hero's character tries to be a jack of all trades, but his behavior is very silly, and the way his scenes with the heroine are handled also does not look good. For example, there is a scene between Siddhu and Vaishnavi where the former talks about sex, which is not at all needed for the film. When the character itself is not established properly, there will be zero impact even if it talks about bold or taboo topics in a funny way. Similarly, the hero's behavior with the RAW officers is also silly to the core. The Nepal episode in the second half is dragged out with no effect, and the climax makes it even worse.
