Dil Raju angry with Vamshi Paidipally

The newly released posters for Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming release Varisu though provided fans with enough excitement, have also become a cause of discussion, especially within the Tollywood circles and this now seems to have put the producer Dil Raju in a bit of soup as well.

Getting into the details, the newly released posters of Varisu seem to have a striking resemblance to Mahesh Babu and Vamsi Paidipally’s Maharshi with a match of getups, some supporting character roles, etc. which now has stirred controversy about whether this movie is a bi-lingual or a remake of Maharshi.

Adding fuel to fire were Vamshi’s comments to a Kollywood media outlet calling out that Varisu is a pure Tamil film, a comment which is said to have irked Dil Raju a bit.

It is already known that producer Dil Raju, during his earlier interactions with the media, called out that there’s no scope for dubbed films to release for the festive season, especially when there are competing Telugu movies.

And Varisu now, exactly falls into this basket with a flurry of movies in Tollywood like Waltair Veerayya, Veera Simha Reddy and Agent are releasing, thus fielding the producer against his comments earlier if he were to release Varisu.

This seemed to have been a point of discussion between Raju and Vamshi and while nothing has brewed yet out of this controversy, it soon will be a big point of discussion during Sankranthi as Dil Raju holds the lion share of theatres in Nizam and his distribution network will need to support bigger Tollywood release while he also has the responsibility to release his own film, even though it has to go against his statement earlier. Interesting times ahead.
