Story:

After being sentenced to 25 years for double murder and getting separated from his love, Vasudha, Krishna opts against an early release from jail. Why doesn’t he want an early prison release? What secrets could he be hiding behind? In what ways has Vasudha's life was changed while Krishna served time in jail? Above all, what circumstances resulted in his imprisonment? These elements drive the narrative of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha.

Performances:

Ajay Devgn and Tabu exhibit remarkable talents, providing performances that do not disappoint. Shantanu and Saiee Manjrekar bring a refreshing vivacity to the screen as they portray the younger versions of the lead pair. Jimmy Sheirgill was fine.

What worked for the film:

The film's opening sequence is intriguing. The scenes between in the lead pair in the second half went well. Especially, in the first encounter between Krishna and Vasudha after the former leaves jail, though the scene unfolds with no conversation, audiences continue to feel that intense desire and suffering which they go through because of over two decade separation, all thanks to Devgn and Tabu’s outstanding performances alongside MM Kareem’s heartrending music.

What did not work for the film:

Though the film opens well and has some engaging moments here and there, it cannot maintain the same flow overall. The first half feels prolonged until the interval episode arrives. The second half engages in the beginning and ending but loses the appeal in between.

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha Review and Verdict:

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha contains a complicated plot that might have grown into a gripping love story. However, aside from several endearing moments and pleasant music, the film feels overly prolonged. The Climax was better, but again it cannot remove the predictable feel.
