Story:

The film highlights the courageous Indian soldiers' battle against Chinese forces in the 1962 Sino-Indian War, preventing the potential occupation of the Ladakh region during the Battle of Rezang La.

Performances:

Farhan Akhtar delivers a sincere performance, showing real talent, although there are a few moments where he appears slightly strained. Sparsh Walia impresses with his natural acting, and Rashii Khanna, Dhanveer Singh, Sahib Verma, Devendra Ahirwar, Ankit Siwach, Atul Singh, Brijesh Karanwal, and Ashutosh Shukla also leave a strong impact with their roles.

What Works:

Razneesh Ghai’s film 120 Bahadur is based on the Battle of Rezang La. The screenplay is written by Rajiv G. Menon, with dialogues by Sumit Arora. The film tries to create an emotional connection with the audience, and it succeeds to a good extent despite some flaws.

Once the war begins, the film picks up pace, maintaining strong tension with realistic action scenes. As the audience watches the intense battle, we feel the emotional weight of the soldiers’ bravery and sacrifice. Their heroic efforts remind us that they fought for the peace and safety of others. The final scenes are especially moving and stay with us.

What didn't Work:

However, the flashbacks of Shaitan Singh’s past and the backgrounds of other soldiers feel brief and do not create a strong emotional bond. The first part of the movie moves slowly, and the director could have shown the soldiers’ friendships more effectively. Also, the conflict between duty and patriotism feels somewhat predictable.

120 Bahadur Review And Verdict:

Razneesh Ghai's 120 Bahadur stands as a sincere tribute to the courageous sacrifice of the Indian Army during the tumultuous India-China War of 1962. The opening act dedicates itself to character introductions, acting merely as a foundation for the war ahead. The latter half comes out powerfully, delivering the emotional punch needed
