Story:

A Union Minister (Suman) is assassinated in Hyderabad, prompting the assailants to target the only witness, a young girl. In a turn of events, Gopi Reddy (portrayed by Gopichand) enters her life and vows to save her. As the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that Gopi's intentions are something else, and he has a significant motive. Also, he has a past with Samaira (played by Kavya Thapar). Who exactly is Gopi? What motivates him to rescue the girl? What past does he have with Samaira? To discover the answers to these questions, one must view the film.

Performances:

These kinds of characters are not new to Gopichand, and he is suited to the role; he tried to enhance the effect in some crucial scenes, and that's it. Kavya Thapar appears as the regular heroine character and is present in a few scenes and three songs. Jisshu Sengupta played the villain role, and though his look was fine, the character did not have much scope. Naresh, Sunil, Pragathi, Kick Shyam, Vtv Ganesh, and Rahul Ramakrishna were okay, while Vennela Kishore and Pruthvi entertained as much as they could.

What worked for the film:

Srinu Vaitla, the director who delivered some memorable entertainers a decade ago, once again tried to repeat that magic. He successfully handled the comedy scenes involving Pruthvi in the first half and Vennela Kishore in the second half. Apart from these, there are some fun dialogues here and there that hint at the director's vintage style. The key emotional backstory at the pre-interval had some effect.

What did not work for the film:

Except for the comedy parts mentioned above and a few scenes, the film hardly has anything to say as a plus point. All the characters in the movie talk a lot but make little scenes. The main story and its emotional quotient had a very stale touch. The way Vaitla handled the villain track and the hero's backstory in the latter half was so pathetic. Also, the Italy episode with Gopichand - Kavya Thapar was so boring, and it looked like Vaitla was making a spoof of his previous hit films. The sentiment angle between the kid and Gopichand had some effect in the first half, but it was handled silly after a crucial moment before the interval.

Viswam Review and Verdict:

Viswam only engages in a few comedy scenes here and there. The core plot and the emotional thread around it appear outdated and poor. Srinu Vaitla tried to mix all the elements like his previous hits, but the mixture seemed too calculative.
