Performances:
Sunny Deol roars in the titular character and he is too good in action sequences and effective in the scenes where he mouths punch dialogues. Randeep Hooda is terrific in the villain role and one would feel he should have been used more effectively in the latter half. Regina Cassandra, Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher and others are apt.
What worked for the film:
The engaging screenplay in the first half impresses and provides proper goosebumps inducing moments. The way the director paves the way for the faceoff between the Hero and Villain's gang with a small incident is impressive. The confrontations between Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda are good, and the sequences leading up to the climax are done well. Thaman’s background music enhances the excitement during key moments in the story.
What did not work for the film:
The film slows down in the second half, with some scenes feeling sluggish. The inclusion of themes like women's empowerment and outdated sentimental scenes disrupts the story. Additionally, the heavy violence detracts from the overall impact. A more polished approach was needed for the entire second half.
JAAT Review and Verdict:
Gopichand Malineni's Jaat is a standard action ride with its ups and downs. The swift pace and action sequences enhance the film, but its predictable second half and high violence levels spoil it. In the title role, Sunny Deol performs well, while Randeep Hooda stands out as the fierce antagonist.
