Nithiin's new movie Thammudu, made by Dil Raju and directed by Venu Sriram, did not do well at the box office. On July 4, 2025, the movie launched with decent predictions, but it failed to generate even minimum collections at the box office.
Thammudu grabs attention again with news of its OTT release. Reports suggest the film will debut on Netflix on August 1, 2025. An official announcement has not come out yet.
The movie boasts a lineup of big names like Sapthami Gowda, Laya, Varsha Bollamma, Saurabh Sachdeva, Swasika, Hari Teja, Srikanth Iyyengar, Temper Vamshi, and Chammak Chandra. Though the viewers did not like the songs, the background music from B Ajaneesh Loknath received good appreciation.
Even though Thammudu flopped in theaters, the producers still got some cash flow from its non-theatrical rights. It is being reported that the makers had a good digital deal with the OTT giant.
The debacle of Thammudu did not stop Dil Raju and Nithiin from teaming up yet again. The next project, called Yellamma, will be directed by Venu Yeldandi, who burst onto the scene with the hit Balagam that everyone loved. Keerthy Suresh is set to take on the female lead role, and they should start production pretty soon.
