Story:

Siddharth (Nara Rohit) stays single even though he's getting older. The issue is that he wants five must-have qualities, and no girl fits the bill. The rest of the story is about what goes down when he finally meets a girl he likes, and it also discusses why he even likes those things, along with a big twist in Siddharth's life.

Performances:

Nara Rohit appears as a solo hero after a gap, and his presentation is stylish. His job is all about delivering jokes and punchlines, and he pulls it off effortlessly. Vriti Vaghani makes a fantastic choice for the role. She rocks that bubbly and charming energy and also performs well in a few emotional parts. Eeshwar fame Sridevi is back in Telugu cinema after a break, and she performs with ease in her role. Also, she impressively pulls off a younger look in short portions.

Vasuki, known for Tholiprema, plays the role of the hero's older sister, and she does well in bringing the emotions and fun when required. Sathya totally takes the spotlight among the rest of the cast. From the moment he shows up to the very end, he always has some funny lines that keep things entertaining, as he delivers those lines with his impeccable timing. Naresh is reliable and handles his part well, but one has to say that he is not used to his full potential. VTV Ganesh's character does not register, while Ajay and the others are fine.

What worked for the film:

Venkatesh Nimmalapudi is the writer and director of Sundarakanda. It's a lighthearted, enjoyable romantic entertainer that relies on a simple plot with a surprising twist and plenty of entertainment value.

The opening scenes are okay, but things really get interesting when the heroine shows up. After that, Sathya's character brings in some good laughs, and just before the interval, there's a twist that might not blow your mind but definitely sets up an exciting second half. The second half has the funniest and most engaging moments of the whole story, and it ties up the climax well.

What did not work for the film:

The serious moments, which come after a major turn in the movie, could definitely flow better. The initial parts of the drama are okay, but the emotional feel of the movie is handled too lightly. The way they make the hero see his mistake feels unnatural.

Sundarakanda Review and Verdict:

Debut director Venkatesh Nimmalapudi's Sundarakanda is a fun ride with an unexpected conflict. The film does a good job mixing drama with entertainment. A few scenes seem predictable, and some key moments could have been handled better, but it ultimately ends on a positive note.
