Nani's Dasara has been released today among massive craze around it. The posters and promos given a feel that Nani will be seen in a never before in this film. Let's see whether or not the film has met the expectations.

Story:

Dasara is set in the village of Veerlapalle in Godhavarikhani. Dharani (Nani), his friend Soori (Dheekshith Shetty) and Vennela (Keerthy Suresh) are childhood friends. Chinna Nambi (Shine Tom Chacko), son of Shivanna (Samuthirakani) and Rajanna (Sai Kumar) are the political gamers in the village and they center the village politics around the Silk Bar. How the lives of Dharani, Soori and Vennela got affected by these things forms the rest of the story.

Performances: Nani is mind-blowing as Dharani. He convincingly switches between many different shades which the character carries. We can say that it is the career best performance from him. Keerthy Suresh and Deekshith Shetty were also effective. Shine Tom Chackie, Samuthirakani and Sai Kumar were apt.

Analysis:

Director Srikanth Odela built the world of Veerlapally effectively though his taking has a resemblance from a few films. The entire first half establishes the characters well and ends with a shocking twist. The second half has a strong drama, though the happenings look predictable. The climax episode comes as a banger and brings a massive impact.

The story is straightforward and simple and Srikanth should have concentrated on stressing some points, such as the political angle in the film. He could have explored better the whole track around the village politics. Also, he could have handled some important scenes more effectively. The cinematography is fantastic and Santosh Narayanan’s music fits the film perfectly. The Dialogues and editing departments have done their job well.

Plus Points:

Nani's Performance as Dharani

Emotional moments

Interval

Last 30 mins

Minus Points:

Nothing special in the story

Few dragged parts

Slow narration

Last Lines: Dasara is an honest attempt with rooted characters. The performance of Nani is its biggest positive. Srikanth odela took numerous risks with it, and it is a commendable first attempt. While it has its flaws, the performances of the leads and the world building of Srikanth Odela make it overall a decent fare.
