With over 500 films in his name, Dr. M Mohan Babu entertained the Telugu audience for more than five decades now. His kids, two sons, and one daughter are also into movies now. His daughter Manchu Lakshmi is making a film called Agni Nakshatram in which Mohan Babu is also part of. Mohan Babu will be seen in an important role in Shakunthalam is made by Guna which is releasing on April 14.

Mohan Babu’s career has always been a roller coaster ride. His career is very different from the other actor’s career. He has always been in the news for being an actor, par excellence and a serious human being. He has acted in over 500 movies in his five-decade-long career and he’s also one of the most versatile actors in Telugu Cinema.

Mohan Babu was born in the Modhugulapalem Village in an ordinary middle-class family. His father was a schoolteacher. Mohan Babu was the eldest of the kids and his actual name was Bhakthavasthalam Naidu. Early in his life Mohan Babu realized that for him to feed his family, he has to do a job. Immediately after his +2 he took training in physical education and started as a physical education teacher at a nearby school later he resigned from the job Citing the uneasy environment at the school. He later moved to Chennai and started working as an assistant, to a few directors, and he also worked as a supporting actor in a few films before he met Dasari Narayana Rao. Mr. Dasari, Narayana made Swargam Narakam with Mohan Babu and a few other films with Mohan Babu, which established Mohan Babu as a promising young actor.

Mohan Babu’s long-standing success was due to his comic villain roles. After a successful stint as a villain and hero, Mohan Babu, established a production House, called Laxmi Prasanna pictures, and made a film (Malayalam remake) which was supposed to be a film for another hero, but as the other actor was not available, Mr. Mohan Babu had to act as a hero And that film is Alludu Garu. Alludu Garu was a grand success and has paved the way for many more productions under LPP, like Assembly Rowdy and Rowdy Gaari Pellam.

From his experience of being a PET teacher, Mohan Babu established Sri Vidhyanikethan. His main motto is to treat everybody equally irrespective of caste creed and religion. Today SriVidhyaniketan will be one of the premier educational institutions in Telugu states. Not only a versatile actor, Mohan Babu is also an educationist and tasteful producer.
