Rating: 3.25/5
Cast: Varsha Bollamma, Megha Lekha, Suchitra Anandhan, Rajeev Kanakala, and others
Director: Prasanth Kumar Dimmala
Produced By: Meteor Entertainments
Steaming On: ETV Win
Story:
Constable Kanakamahalakshmi (Varsha Bollamma), still grappling with the mystery of her missing friend Chandrika (Megha Lekha) – despite solving a missing woman case in Repalle’s Adavigutta area – launches her own investigation to find her. The series follows her pursuit of the truth.
Performances:
Varsha Bollamma, who impressed in the previous season, once again delivers a solid and convincing performance as the lead. Megha Lekha delivers a strong performance that suits the role perfectly. Suchitra Anandhan, who gets a meaty role, handles it very well and performs satisfactorily. Rajeev Kanakala did not get much scope this time.
What Works:
Much like the first season, the story is narrated engagingly, with a twist at the end of every episode, and a backstory in regular intervals at the start of each episode. The two way flashback kind of narration is also interesting. The thrilling moments are well-made and the emotional portions also work effectively this time, especially at the final twist.
What Didn't:
The backstory of Chandrika is well put, but the twist is not completely unguessable. During the key revelations, a few side characters are brought just for the sake of it, and a bit of rushedness appears, which could have been taken care of.
Constable Kanakam 2 Review and Verdict:
The impact of Constable Kanakam Season 2 exceeds that of Season 1. Varsha Bollamma and the other actors deliver a strong impact. While the plot remains familiar, and some revelation parts could have been better, the appealing treatment with good enough twists makes it enjoyable.
