Story:

Set in Kothapeta in Annamayya district, the film follows Sriram, played by Sivaji, a sincere panchayat secretary who lives with his wife Uthara, played by Laya, and their son Mittu (Rohan). Mittu often behaves in strange and quirky ways, which frequently frustrates Sriram.

One day, Sriram gets into an argument with Sub-Inspector Vikram Vasudev, played by Prince Cecil. Later, when Sriram is not at home, the SI visits his house. When Sriram returns, he is shocked to find the SI dead inside his home. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Sriram decides to secretly dispose of the body. What happens next and how the situation unfolds forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

Sivaji and Laya appear together as the lead pair after a long gap, and they look good on screen. However, the script does not give them much scope to showcase their acting abilities. In Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosani, their performances remain limited due to weak character development. Rohan’s character and performance feel quite irritating at times. Actors like Sharath Lohitashwa, Ali, Dhanraj, Prince, Emmanuel, Raj Tirandasu, Karan and others deliver decent performances.

What Works:

The opening portions of the film are fairly engaging and suggest that the movie might turn out to be a self-aware and straightforward comedy. The on-screen chemistry between Sivaji and Laya works well in a few scenes and adds some positive moments to the film.

What Doesn’t Work:

Director Sudhir Sriram tries to blend crime elements with comedy and even attempts dark humor at times. However, the film fails to create the necessary tension required for such humor to work effectively. The seriousness needed in the lead characters is also missing.

Additionally, the behavior of the hero’s wife and son often feels irritating, making it difficult for the audience to emotionally connect with their problems or feel sympathy for them.

Although the twist towards the end is decent, the way it is revealed is not very impressive. The manner in which the hero handles the police and other key characters, including the MLA and his associates, also fails to leave a strong impact.

Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosani Review and Verdict:

Sudheer Sriram's Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosani has all the ingredients needed for a perfect dark comedy, but the film ends up being a very tedious watch, with only a few comedy moments that actually work. The screenplay never gains the required pace or energy and continues on a dull note for most of the runtime, making the overall experience feel slow and uninspiring.
