Story:
The film delves into the remarkable life of industrialist Srikanth Bolla, the visionary behind Bollant Industries, who, despite being visually impaired, refused to be defined by his disability. Srikanth's journey is one of resilience and determination, from being treated as a spectacle in his childhood to facing constant reminders of his limitations as he achieves success. As he navigates through life's challenges, the movie sheds light on his rise to prominence and the hardships he encounters along the way.
Performances:
Rajkummar Rao delivers an exceptional performance with finesse. His heartfelt portrayal adds depth to the film and effectively anchors it with his presence. Jyotika and Sharad Kelkar leave a lasting impression with their impressive acting skills, though their characters could have been explored better. Unfortunately, Alaya F doesn't have much scope to showcase her talent.
What Worked for The Film:
Jagdeep Sidhu collaborated with Sumit Purohit to write the script, while Tushar Hiranandani directed the film, following the conventional path of storytelling for a biopic. There are numerous crucial scenes where the dialogue strikes a chord with audiences, and the climax episode blends the fun and emotional angle very well. As said above, Rajkummar Rao's performance is a big plus point for the film.
What Did Not Work For The Film:
While the intention of the makers of Srikanth is unquestionable, the film's narration was imperfect on several occasions. The challenges thrown against the protagonist and how he wins against them are shown very conveniently. Also, the brief changeover of his character in the second half appears forced. There is no doubt about Srikanth's achievements in real life, but somehow, Tushar Hiranandani and his team failed to present his journey in a convincing way.
Srikanth Review And Verdict:
Srikanth is a simplistic attempt to depict an inspiring journey. Rajkummar Rao's performance was terrific. Some solid moments and an impactful climax work well for the film, but the narrative sometimes struggles because of the forced tone and underwhelming emotional impact.
