Story:
With his father (Naresh), mechanic Rocky (Vishwak Sen) runs a driving school. One day, a local don assaults him and attempts to take his land. To rescue his driving school, Rocky requests the don to grant him some time to gather ₹40 lakhs. Rocky discovers that his father has an insurance policy worth ₹2 crores when his father dies during this time. Excited, he goes to Maya (Shraddha Srinath), an insurance company employee, who tells him that Rocky is not the nominee in his father's will but rather someone else. Who is this new person? What is the insurance policy's true history? Amidst this, where does Priya (Meenakshi Chaudhary) fit in? Did Rocky manage to salvage his father's priceless shed? These questions are answered by the rest of the story.
Performances:
Vishwak Sen does his job perfectly. There is nothing to mention as remarkable, and there is no mistake from his side either. Meenakshi Chaudhary has less scope to perform and gets some importance in the latter half. Shraddha Srinath gave an impressive performance in a different character, while Sunil, Naresh, Viva Harsha, Harshavardhan, and others were okay.
What worked for the film:
Vishwak Sen lifts some of the comedy scenes in the first half, and his performance during the intense and vulnerable moments is good. The main point of the movie, which comes in the second half's flashback, is a never-ending issue in society, and the effects of it on the people have been shown effectively. The entire episode where all the dots are connected is effective though not great.
What did not work for the film:
Except for a few scenes, the comedy feels stale, and the proceedings lack fire, because of which the first half gets off to a pretty dreary start. The narration of the flashbacks and love story is unimpressive. The interval twist also falls flat. The film gains some momentum during the second half, but the crucial flashback does not get the required emotional output because of the pale handling of the hero's flashback, which is connected to his friend. Surprisingly, there is not a single scene between the hero and his friend after the silly college flashback, despite stating they both share a great bond. Moreover, the climax, which should have provided a solid ending to all the drama that happened before, appears too rushed and ineffective.
Mechanic Rocky Review and Verdict:
Mechanic Rocky intends well, yet it falls short of delivering on its premise. The first half appears almost mindless, with only a few fun parts working correctly. While a few engaging parts are present in the second half, the climax could have been executed more effectively.
