Story:

The main point of Sarangapani Jathakam is about Saranga, who has always believed in astrology. The plot shows what happens when he gets engaged to his love, Maithili, and how astrology makes things tricky for them. In the end, Saranga learns how his superstitions affect him and finds a way to let them go.

Performances:

Priyadarshi Pulikonda plays the title role, and he tries to carry the film on his shoulders. He, along with Vennela Kishore, provides some genuine laughs, and that's it. Roopa Koduvayur plays the female lead, and though her character has importance in the film, her screen time is very limited, and she is fine within her limitations. Srinivas Avasarala, Viva Harsha, Naresh, and Tanikella Bharani were wasted in insignificant roles, while Vadlamani Srinivas makes his presence felt.

What worked for the film:

Priyadarshi and Vennela Kishore work out some fun moments in the film. Though the story or screenplay does not support them fully, they try their best to make scenes hilarious. The initial moments of the second half, where the love track gets some emotional touch, are good.

What did not work for the film:

As said above, the story is simple, and though the conflict appears weird, if the jokes were funny and stayed the same throughout, this film could have been a joyful ride. Sadly, Indraganti Mohanakrishna and his team didn't manage to do that. There are plenty of episodes in the film that try to be funny but end up being ridiculous. The attempts of the hero to postpone his marriage in fear of his astrological prediction do not deliver the right impact. Never ever do the audiences feel for the hero or sympathize with him. That is why the emotional angle in the love track does not work. The second half of the film is particularly tedious, with most of the proceedings happening at a hotel, and the climax, which could have turned the tables, finishes with a rushed tone and gives an unconvincing feeling.

Sarangapani Jathakam Review and Verdict:

While Priyadarshi and Vennela Kishore bring some well-done fun moments, Sarangapani Jathakam lacks overall impact. This movie explores the dangers of strong belief in horoscopes, yet its erratic narration and absurd moments detract from the target
