Hombale Films, the big production house behind KGF and Salaar, has unveiled the official trailer for Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty. The trailer sets the tone for a gripping mythological action drama rooted in ancient lore and spiritual intensity.
The prequel's story/setup is very similar to Kantara (2022), but it is explored in a rural setting, and it dives deeper into the origin of the legend. The visuals are striking, with dense forests, tribal rituals, and intense action sequences that hint at a much larger canvas. Rishab Shetty appears in two avatars, a tribal leader and a spiritual, godlike character.
Ajaneesh Loknath’s background score adds weight to the visuals, blending folk rhythms with haunting chants. The trailer also shows the other actors from the film, such as Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and others.
The production design, costumes, and cinematography reflect a commitment to authenticity, while the scale of the action and drama suggests that Chapter 1 is aiming for a pan-India impact.
But as said above, the story seems a regular one for such a huge backdrop and canvas. The fans expect that there are many more surprises in the film that are not shown in the trailer.
There are huge expectations on the box office performance of Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, and it could be another milestone in mythological storytelling from South Indian cinema if it gets a positive response.
