Story:

Raju (Naveen Polishetty) belongs to a once-wealthy family. However, his grandfather wastes the family property by giving it away to his mistresses. Raju later falls in love with Charulatha (Meenakshi Chaudhary), who comes from a richer family. Using his clever tricks, Raju hopes to secure his future through this relationship. The rest of the film focuses on whether he succeeds in achieving his goal.

Performances:

Naveen Polishetty delivers a complete one-man show with his strong screen presence and excellent comic timing. Meenakshi Chaudhary is decent, but her character does not have much depth. Rao Ramesh, Tarak Ponnappa, Jabardast Mahesh, Chammak Chandra, Bulli Raju, and others perform adequately.

What Works:

Naveen Polishetty completely dominates Anaganaga Oka Raju in the title role. Most of the film’s entertainment depends on his comedy timing, which works well in several scenes. The romantic portions in the first half and the social media–related scenes in the second half are engaging.

What Doesn’t Work:

Apart from the lead character, the film lacks strong supporting characters and exciting moments. After the interval, the conflict shifts to village politics, where the humor becomes inconsistent. The sudden emotional turn towards the climax fails to make a strong impact.

Anaganaga Oka Raju Review And Verdict:

As a light hearted entertainer, Anaganaga Oka Raju mainly depends on Naveen Polishetty’s energetic and engaging performance. Though the story follows a routine path and the second half has a few dull moments, the film manages to keep the audience engaged for the most part.
