Story:
Ramu and Asha study at the same school and gradually become close friends. Their friendship turns into love when they are still in Class 10. However, driven by teenage attraction and immaturity, they make a serious mistake.
The rest of the story revolves around the consequences of that decision and how the young couple deals with the challenges that follow. The film also explores how their relationship eventually takes an unexpected turn.
Performances:
Harsh Roshan does justice to the role of Ramu. He brings the required innocence to the character and performs well in emotional scenes when the situation demands it.
Debutante Nakshatra is equally impressive as Asha. She looks good on screen and delivers convincing expressions, making a confident debut.
Ajay performs well as the heroine's father, while Deepak, as Harsh's friend, provides some entertaining moments. Kasireddy Rajkumar and Goparaju Ramana are adequate in their respective roles.
However, an actress like Saranya does not get enough scope to make an impact.

What Works:
Director Ramesh Bandreddi picks an interesting and relevant subject by focusing on teenage love, attraction, immature decisions, and their consequences. The film is reportedly inspired by a real-life incident.
The first half has a few entertaining comedy sequences, while some of the scenes between the lead pair work well. The songs also suit the mood of the film and add some value to the proceedings.

What Doesn't Work:
The film takes a major turn at the interval, but the scene leading to that twist lacks the required impact. Because the setup isn't convincing enough, the problems faced by Ramu and Asha afterwards fail to evoke much sympathy.
The lead couple keeps making one mistake after another without fully understanding the consequences of their actions. This makes it difficult for the emotional drama to connect with the audience.
The attempt to generate sentiment through the parents' characters also doesn't work as intended. The film tries to create strong emotions during the final 20 minutes, but the weak buildup prevents the climax from making a lasting impact.
The second half is particularly problematic. The attempts made by the characters to come out of their situation become repetitive and predictable, with the narrative dragging at several points. The proceedings are dull and repetitive, making the latter half feel bizarre.

Thella Kagitham Review & Verdict:
Thella Kagitham has a relevant premise and a clear intention to convey a message to youngsters. Harsh Roshan and Nakshatra perform well, while a few first-half scenes and songs provide some relief.
However, the weak emotional connect, inconsistent writing, and routine second half significantly dilute the impact. The film had the potential to make a stronger statement, but the execution and ineffective climax leave it feeling underwhelming.
