Story: Major depicts the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan from his childhood to being The commanding officer of Operation Black Tornado and defines the risk taken by Sandeep Unnikrishnan and several Indian soldiers to save the lives of many hostages in the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in 26th November Mumbai Attacks 2008.

Analysis: The film starts with multiple incidents leading to introduce Major to the audience. Director uses back the fourth narration with Major's parents telling his life journey.
Scenes depicting the unknown personal side of Major Sandeep, his Family and love interest were heartening and were knitted well with few other moments into crucial moments of the narration.

As the film reaches the mid act emotional quotient rises and never declines till the end. The strategies used by terrorists and counterattacks done by the commandos were effectively displayed by the director. The main character's establishment was done incredibly well. That delicate quality is the main plus point of the movie. The overall shock factor at the hotel and the situational helplessness of the NSG commando team were also presented in a significant way. Though the pre-climax seems cinematic, other action sequences, and the climax breathed the exact emotional outcome.

Performances: Adivi Sesh was excellent as Major Sandeep. His dialogue delivery was too good. As a writer and actor, he performs his job very sufficiently. Prakash Raj was graceful in the major's father"s role. Revathi was good. Saiee Manjrekar was adorable and her performance was good. Murali Sharma was apt. Shobhitha dhulipala appears in a special role.

Dialogues by Abburi Ravi and the background score from Sricharan Pakala accelrated Sashi Kiran Thikka's narration into the right gear. The action sequences lived up the mark and the production values of Super Star Mahesh and team were clearly evident.

What worked for the movie:

Adivi Sesh's performance
Background score
Action sequences

What did not work for the movie:

Some over-the-top moments in the second half.

Overall, Adivi Sesh-Sashi Kiran Thikka Duo and the team were successful in bringing Major Sandeep's life onto the screen, paying a cinematic tribute for his Rise Courage, Honour and Sacrifice.

Bottom-line: Salute Major
