UlagaNayagan, a universal hero, a tag that has been bestowed upon the legendary actor Kamal Hassan for his stupendous performances over the decades.
The actor who celebrates his 68th birthday today has had a long, entertaining, satisfying career, and is he done yet? His recent Vikram movie doesn’t say so.
The hero, who made his debut at a tender age of 6, won the President’s Gold Medal for his performance, and he has been a care of address for performances and awards thereafter.
The actor, screenwriter, director, playback singer and presenter won as many as 4 national awards and 20 film fare awards which are astonishing numbers to say the least. Had he not written to film fare to not award him with any more awards and encourage young talent rather, he would have earned many more for sure.
These numbers are not any random wins that clicked the actor’s way, but his hard work and variety in selection of scripts and roles that made him stand apart from the crowd and make an impression and name for himself.
Soak this number in when we say the actor has featured in a whopping 225+ movies in his career. His fan following not just was limited to the Kollywood industry alone but has spread across the nation and to other nations as well and his recent blockbuster VIKRAM’s performance in different territories just proves the same point, reinstating the star power the hero commands, even after a highly disappointing few past years at the box office.
The hero also has a social responsibility associated with him for Makkal Needi Maiam which he floated in 2018 and has been an active presence in Tamil Nadu. He is often seen raising his voice against various social issues in the state and the nation.
On his 68th birthday, we wish him all success with all his endeavors. Happy birthday, Kamal Hassan.
