Allu Shirish, who has not had a proper success in his career so far, came up with his new movie 'Urvashivo Rakshasivo'. This romantic comedy, which featured Anu Emmanuel as the female lead, hit the screens today. Let's see what's this film has to offer.
Story:
Sreekumar(Sireesh) an ordinary middle class boy joins corporate after his studies and apparently falls for his colleague Sindhu (Annu). Followed by a series of events their relationship ends up growing physically intimate and Sree puts a marriage proposal that Sindhu rejects with an alternative of Live in together. Did Sree agree for it, what happened to their love story? What were the circumstances they faced forms the rest of the story.
Analysis:
'Urvashivo Rakshasivo' is a remake of a Tamil movie 'Pyaar Prema Kadal'. The film has a proportionate dose of adult or intimate youthful content blended with double double meaning jokes keeping the audience continuously engaged with laughter. The film never gets boring as the light hearted humor is also added to the proceedings. There are a lot of scenes that will make audience split into the laughs.
There is no shortage for the entertainment right from the first scene. From the introductory scenes between the main two characters who seem to be polar opposites generated fun. Vennela Kishore and Sunil together give the required fun dose. There are also fun scenes between the hero and heroines which came good and there are many lip locks in the movie which entertain the youth audience.
As far as the narrative is concerned, simple twists in the story are impressive. The comedy is also situational and not forced. For example, In the second half starting a comedy episode, titled 'Sri Premier League', is hilarious to the core which Successfully presents the fun factor along with the problems hero is facing to manage his mother and Lover.
Comedy worked out well in other scenes too but the climax episode turns serious shifting the mood of the movie in a swing, adding to this serious songs and a tragic touch shatter the till then existing rhythm of the movie, later ends up in a regular note.
Performances:
Allu Shirish looks okay in the role of an innocent middle class boy. Anu Emmanuel was fine as a foreign returned modern girl is a perfect suit for the role. She also acted in intimate scenes without inhibition. Vennela Kishore is superb in hero's friend character. Sunil too did a natural act and entertained after a longtime. Amani impressed in the role of hero's mother. Prithvi, Kedar Shankar and others were appropriate.
Achu Rajamani-Anup Rubens' songs are fine. The background music went well. Rakesh has excelled in dialogues. Along with the adult dose, the dialogues in some emotional scenes are also well done.
Pros:
Comedy
Dialogues
SPL episode in second half
Few Emotional moments
Cons:
Predictable Love track
Heavy dose of melodrama in pre climax
Overall, Urvashivo Rakshasivo has enough moments of fun and though the movie gets diluted towards the end it is an enjoyable entertainer.
