Story:

After the disastrous and dangerous result comes out because of four friends entering the haunted bungalow in the Demonty Colony, the sequel tells us the story of Debbie (Priya Bhavani Shankar) and Raghunanthan (Arulnithi), who unexpectedly get entangled in the series of events which are linked to Demonte Colony. The stakes are very dangerous this time, and the rest of the story shows how Debbie and Raghu try to stop the mayhem of the spirits.

Performances:

Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar performed well. Arun Pandian's character starts as crucial but soon fades into the background. Muthukumar and the others were perfect.

What worked for the film:

Director Ajay Gnanamuthu perfectly interlinked the story of Demonte Colony with its sequel, Demonte Colony 2: Vengeance of the Unholy. The way he connects the characters from the first to Debbie and Raghu is excellent, raising anticipation for the proceedings. The narration's flow until the interval maintains the same intrigue. Also, the scenes towards the climax work well.

What did not work for the film:

The second half stage was well set for an exciting ride, but the proceedings lacked the required excitement and felt redundant. The thrills did not impress, and the crucial reveals also did not work the way they had to. The attempt to introduce exorcism into the film was good, but the execution could have been much better.

Demonte Colony 2 Review and Verdict:

Demonty Colony 2 is a decently made horror thriller that offers the required thrills and excitement. Both Priya Bhavani Shankar and Arulnithi deliver convincing performances, and the first half is perfectly packaged with enough intrigue. Though the perplexed tone and a few dragged moments in the second half appear to be weak links, overall, it is a worthwhile experience.
