Story:

Sachiv Ji, or Abhishek, risks his career amid a case tied to a power struggle between Pradhan and Bhushan. Pradhan Ji recovers from an assassination attempt and starts his campaign, while Bhushan's team targets Pradhan's supporters. The rest of the story is about how campaign clashes heat the election, and what is the result.

Performances:

Jitendra Kumar plays Abhishek/Sachiv Ji in a fun and relatable way. Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta shine as the village's power couple, with firm support from Faisal Malik and Chandan Arora. Sanvikaa's portrayal of Rinki lacks depth, except for a few moments. Durgesh Kumar and Sunita Rajwa excel as the troublesome duo, Bhushan and Kranti Devi. Pankaj Jha is apt as Vidhayak.

What worked for the Series:

The village dramedy Panchayat has steadily grown in popularity for three seasons. In the fourth part, attention turns to a hard-fought election.

Centering an entire season around a village panchayat election presents a captivating idea, allowing for various narratives to unfold and showcasing human behavior's unpredictability during elections. Despite the weak progression, the creators work to disguise shortcomings with a lively taking.

The entire Laddos sequence is hilarious. The unexpected offer to Prahlad and his emotional response are effective. The humor in Vidhayak's scenes is great. Some crucial moments, like Vikas's land deal causing an IT raid and Pradhan Ji asking Binod to dinner, really landed well.

What did not work for the Series:

The narrative feels too easy and expected, with no surprises. When Rinki recommends social media to boost her mother's campaign, one hopes for fresh energy, but it gets abandoned quickly. After a while, the peculiarities of family, friends, and villagers do not appear as effective as they should have been

The character development remains stagnant, and scenarios lack the needed punch.

Panchayat Season 4 Review and Verdict:

Prime Video's Panchayat Season 4 is entertaining, yet it fails to elevate itself further. Even though this season lacks that signature punch, the familiar faces and some fun or emotional scenes still make it enjoyable. They had a strong concept with the politics, but the execution fell short.
