Home Minister Kanakaraju assassinates the Chief Minister and grab the CM position for himself. However, CCTV technician Vishnudhar (Tanish) accidentally discovers the murder through security camera footage. To erase the evidence, Kanakaraju brutally kills Vishnudhar and his wife.
But their daughter Teju (Tejal Vikhyathi) survives the attack. As Kanakaraju’s men continue hunting the little girl, Rudra Pratap (Ravi Babu), who runs a dog service company, steps in to protect her. How Rudra saves Teju from the dangerous gang forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Ravi Babu fits the role perfectly and carries the film with a solid screen presence. His body language during the action sequences is impressive, and he also performs well in an emotional flashback episode.
Most of the remaining cast members are unfamiliar faces, and unfortunately, they fail to leave much of an impact. The actor chosen for the villain’s role looks weak and lacks the intensity needed for such a character. Baby Tejal Vikhyathi delivers a decent performance.
What Works:
The action choreography is neatly designed, especially the first two fight sequences, which are engaging and energetic. The film also gets into the story quickly without wasting much time, helping it establish the mood effectively in the beginning.
What Doesn’t Work:
Although the film starts on a promising note, the action scenes gradually become repetitive. The excessive violence in almost every fight sequence becomes tiring after a point.
The emotional depth needed for the story is largely missing. Even though the child’s life is constantly under threat, the film never creates real tension or emotional urgency. Since the narrative becomes predictable very early, audiences can easily guess what happens next, making it difficult to emotionally connect with the characters.
The scenes involving Ravi Babu’s tech team investigating the video evidence using technology are also underwhelming. As mentioned earlier, the villain and his gang are poorly written and lack the threat value required for an engaging thriller.
Razor Review And Verdict:
Ravi Babu’s Razor has all the ingredients of a solid action thriller, but the weak screenplay, artificial emotions, excessive violence, and underwhelming performances prevent it from making a strong impact. Apart from a couple of decent action moments, the film fails to leave a lasting impression.
