Andhra Pradesh Government releases the Ticket Hike GO for Kantara Chapter 1 Movie

The Andhra Pradesh government has officially approved a temporary hike in ticket prices for the Telugu-dubbed version of Kantara Legend Chapter 1, set to release on October 2, 2025.

The revised ticket rates will be applicable for 10 days: From October 2 to October 11 in all theatres across the state, as mentioned below.

  • Single Screens will see a hike of ₹75 per ticket
  • Multiplexes will have a ₹100 increase per ticket

Additionally, a special premiere show is scheduled for October 1 at 10 PM, with the same ticket hike applied. It is widely known that there was some controversy after the film's pre-release event, but in the end, the Andhra Pradesh government permitted the ticket hikes for the Kantara team just like the other Telugu films. In Telangana, the film will not have any ticket rate hikes.

This move is expected to boost the film’s opening and cater to high audience demand, especially given the buzz around the Kannada original.

About Kantara Chapter 1:

Kantara: Chapter 1 is a mythological action thriller directed and written by Rishab Shetty, serving as a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara. Set during the Kadamba dynasty, the film explores the origin story of Berme, a divine figure deeply rooted in forest traditions and spiritual lore. Shot over 50 days on a sprawling 25-acre site in Karnataka, the film promises grand visuals and intense war sequences, including scenes featuring over 3,000 actors. The music is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, continuing the haunting and earthy soundscape of the original.

The cast is led by Rishab Shetty as Berme, with Rukmini Vasanth playing Princess Kanakavathi, Gulshan Devaiah as the fierce Kulashekara, and Jayaram portraying King Vijayendra. The supporting cast includes Achyuth Kumar, Manasi Sudhir, Shine Shetty, Pramod Shetty, and others.

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films, the film boasts a strong technical team including cinematographer Arvind Kashyap and editor Suresh Sankalan. With its rich cultural backdrop and powerful performances, Kantara: Chapter 1 is set to be a major cinematic event.
