Story:

Aarav (Lakshya) and Chandni (Ananya) meet during their college days, gradually fall in love, and promise to stand by each other forever. The film follows the challenges and emotional struggles the couple faces in their relationship and how they deal with them over time.

Performances:

Ananya Panday and Lakshya share impressive chemistry and perform well, especially in the emotional sequences. Lakshya delivers the required variations in his character effectively according to the situations. The supporting cast, who appear as friends and family members of the lead pair, also do a decent job.

Directed by Vivek Soni, Chand Mera Dil is not just a routine love story. The film attempts to explore themes like toxicity, emotional space, respect, personal boundaries, and the importance of second chances in relationships. The pre-interval and post-interval sequences are handled effectively, while several important conversational scenes between the lead pair leave an impact. The climax dialogues also work well emotionally. Additionally, the music blends smoothly with the narrative and supports the film’s emotional journey.

What Doesn't Work:

The flashback portion set in the college backdrop feels too generic and predictable. The way the lead pair meets and falls in love is rushed and lacks depth. Some portions in the second half feel unnecessarily stretched, affecting the pacing. Moreover, the characterization of the female lead could have been written more clearly, as her behavior feels inconsistent and hasty in a few scenes.

Vivek Soni’s Chand Mera Dil is a sincere romantic drama that tries to explore the deeper complexities of modern relationships.
