Starring
Sivakarthikeyan in the leading role, the comedy film Prince has been released
in theatres on Friday, October 21. The romantic drama follows the hilarious
drama that unravels when Sivakarthikeyan's character of a teacher falls in love
with a British teacher essayed by Maria Riaboshapka, while working together at
the same school.
Anand (Siva
Karthikeyan) is a school Teacher who lives with his father Vishwantham
(Sathyaraj). Jessica from Cambridge comes to his school to work as an English teacher,
he falls in love with her. But problem arises when his father doesn't agree for
their marriage as he hates British because his ancestors were made slaves by
them. Similarly, Jessica's father hates Indians. How Anand won the heart of
Jessica and his father forms the rest of the story?
Anudeep has stuck
to his strength and played sensibly. He has entirely relied on his mark comedy.
Right from the start, the movie concentrates delivering countless laughs. There
are several one liners and hilarious episodes throughout the first half.
The second half too
follows the same pattern with occasional emotional touch. Soori's episode was
hilarious. After that movie had few drops here and there but climax came out well
with rib tickling comedy.
The movie never
takes itself seriously which is plus and in a way minus also. Some audience may
find it silly because there is no emotional part to connect.
The whole movie is nothing,
but Siva Karthikeyan's one man show. After SK, it is Sathya raj who delivers
yet another solid performance. Premji as a comical villain score after these
two. Maria Riaboshapka was nice. Rest of the actors were fine.
Thaman has
delivered good songs. Jessica and bimbilipi songs were too good, background
score elevates the scenes.
Overall, prince is
a neatly done entertainer with entertainment working for most of the parts.
