Story:

Indukuri Anand, alias Mr. Bachchan, works as a dedicated Income Tax officer and enjoys performing with the local orchestra when he is off duty. He shows great sincerity in performing his duties but ends up suspended after a raid. Jikki, his neighbor, captures Bachchan's heart. Simultaneously, he finds himself in the sights of Mutyam Jaggaya (Jagapathi Babu), a prominent politician from a neighboring locality. The main narrative of Mr. Bachchan focuses on the intertwined personal and professional lives of Bachchan and Mutyam Jaggaya, highlighting how Bachchan ultimately triumphs over him.

Performances:

Ravi Teja has a custom-made MR Bachchan for him, and he delivers a performance full of energy and charm, as always. Bhagyashree Borse was fine in her role, as she showed the required emotions in the needed places and looked gorgeous  songs. Jagapathi Babu appears as a regular villain, and Satya makes a few good laughs.

What worked for the film:

The initial episode of Hero Introduction and the following hometown scenes work well. Though there is nothing great or standout feeling here, the passable feel makes the screenplay get going. Also, comedian Satya does his best in the first half, though the writing is not that great for his character. The pre interval and post interval episodes provide the required high.

What did not work for the film:

The mix of entertainment with a serious story doesn’t blend rightly. The romance track is also so disappointing, though it works at the beginning. The inclusion of old Hindi songs did not serve the purpose. Except for a few among audiences, no one gets the feel of nostalgia for those songs. The second half starts with a perfect elevation episode for Bacchan's character; however, the flow is not maintained throughout, and the episode of him dealing with the likes of the Chief Minister and Prime Minister lacks the required effect.

Mr. Bachchan Review and Verdict:

Mr. Bachchan is a below-average fare with only a few moments working well. Raviteja was usual and tried to carry the film on his shoulders, while Bhagyashree Borse shines with her screen presence. However, the direction/screenplay is at fault for most of the parts, as the needed intensity is missing in the game between Hero and Villain.
