Story:

Subramanyam (Rao Ramesh) is a middle-aged man who sits idle with the only hope of getting a government job. Sadly, his attempt fails, and his wife (Indraja) becomes the family's sole provider. One day, Subramanyam receives a message stating that his bank account has been credited with ten lakh rupees while his wife goes on a holy trip. Subramanyam spends all the money in excitement and overwhelmed feeling. Because of this, Subramanyam is in trouble. The rest of the story is about how his life returns to normalcy and how his son Arjun (Ankith Koyya) helps him.

Performances:

Rao Ramesh was excellent in the title role and performed all the scenes well. Ankith Koyya also did a good job, while Ramya Pasupuleti was fine. Harshavardhan and Indraja were perfect, while Praveen, Ajay, and others were fine.

What worked for the film:

Director Lakshman Karya handled the comic moments in the film. The film's storyline is straightforward, and often, the proceedings look silly, but still, he made it an engaging ride by adding enough fun parts. Also, a few crucial emotional sequences, including the climax, were very well handled. Apart from Rao Ramesh's excellent acting, the performances from the other cast members were good for the film, and the music was also very well in sync with the movie.

What did not work for the film:

The film has a few dull episodes which work against it. Especially in the second half, the entertainment becomes stagnant and feels like going nowhere. The scenes involving money transfers should have been taken care of.

Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam Review and Verdict:

Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam is a fun-filled entertainer with a slight emotional touch. The comedy parts work well for the film, and though it has a few stretched and dull moments in the latter half, it ends on a satisfactory note. As usual, Rao Ramesh does a superb job, while Ankith Koyya, Ramya Pasupuleti, Indraja, and Harshavardhan are fine.
