Story:

Vedanth Prabhakar (Srimuralii) always dreams of becoming a superhero since his childhood, driven by a desire to protect others. However, as per his mother's wishes, he chooses to serve as a dedicated police officer. Vedanth shows his power during his earlier phase of career, and he reduces the crime rate in Mangalore. But due to the higher officials' pressure, he succumbs to corruption, which results in the formation of 'Bagheera', a superhero. Will Bagheera be able to stop the crimes and confront Rana (Garuda Ram), the ruthless villain who is behind the human organ trafficking syndicate? The answer lies in the rest of the story.

Performances:

Srii Murali did a decent job and performed well in action sequences. Rukmini Vasanth had a little scope and she was fine. Prakash Raj was decent, while Achyuth Kumar, Ramachandra Raju, and Rangayana Raghu were okay.

What worked for the film:

The film has a predictable but well-working storyline of a superhero/vigilante. The director Suresh Yellappa tried to mix all the commercial elements around the main plot, which works at a few places. The beginning episodes of the hero showcasing his sincerity and grit as a police offer were good, and a couple of action sequences also work for the film. The typical hero elevation dialogues at crucial moments also work here and there.

What did not work for the film:

Bagheera suffers with predictability. One cannot make every film with a new story, but a routine story needs to be told grippingly, which is missing in this film. The emotional turmoil of the hero when he faces issues in doing his duty as a police officer fails to evoke any emotion, and the love track is also handled very ordinarily. The villain track starts on a good note but soon falls flat as anyone can guess his next move. There are also many dragged and overdramatic moments that fail to engage audiences.

Bagheera Review and Verdict:

Bagheera is a regular vigilante/superhero film that entertains only in parts. The conventional plot is narrated very ordinarily, and though it engages in between, gets drawn on after a point.
