Story:

The central narrative of SWAG focuses on the Swaganika Vamsam and its vast treasure, poised to be inherited by the legitimate successor. The royal clan's legacy spans from the 15th century to 2024, and the film shows the members of that clan/lineage across centuries using back-and-forth narration.

Performances:

It requires a genuine conviction for an actor to embrace a script such as SWAG. Portraying multiple roles, spanning different age groups, and embodying a character that is both unconventional and sensitive demands a significant level of commitment. Actor Sree Vishnu showed that conviction and dedication in his performance and displayed an excellent variation. Ritu Varma gets a good character and is important in the story as well. However, after a promising start, her character remains in the background and does not generate much impact. Meera Jasmine, Daksha Nagarkar, Saranya Pradeep, Sunil, Ravi Babu, Getup Srinu, and Gopa Raju Ramana were all appropriate.

What worked for the film:

If anyone who has seen the movie SWAG and tries to explain it to someone who has not seen it, it sounds so complex and confusing. Director Hasith Goli chose to tell a different story layered with complexity, a thoughtful message, albeit with a touch of entertainment. Though the film starts on a random note, it turns interesting as it progresses with all the lead characters coming together, and the interval episode makes the proceedings even more exciting. The second half, though, has its heart at the right place, stumbles on a few occasions, and has a slight touch of boredom as well, but the last 20 minutes of the film work well with providing the perfect emotional effect.

What did not work for the film:

Because the movie has so many characters, timelines, and incidents, the narration sometimes could be clearer. Also,, a few subplots like Ritu Varma and her hospital track and showing Sree Vishnu's introduction as an astronaut add to the confusion. Besides this, the tonal shift from comedy to emotion could have had a better transition.

SWAG Review and Verdict:

SWAG aims to present something unique while conveying a significant message at the conclusion. Although the film has a few drawn-out and uninteresting moments in the latter half, Sree Vishnu shines with his impressive performance, the first half boasts an engaging screenplay, and the director's intentions enhance the overall experience
