Performances:
Asif Ali excels as the investigator who solves the case and delivers justice to the victim, showcasing an effortless performance. Anaswara Rajan shines in her character as the lively Rekha. After last year's Aattam, Zarin Shihab continues to dazzle with another performance; she showcases her ability to adapt dramatically in just one role. Manoj K Jayan, despite being underused, skillfully shifts between appearing stylish and intimidating, fulfilling his role effectively. While Indrans' involvement may be limited in runtime, it carries significant importance for the storyline, along with Saikumar. Jagadeesh makes a short but sweet cameo.
What worked for the film:
The film's main plot bears a lot of intrigue. We find ourselves engrossed in the screen within the first twenty minutes. In its quest to reveal the victim's identity, the screenplay opted for a lengthy journey filled with classic police procedural elements and a rich infusion of 80s cinematic nostalgia — showcasing films, minor actors, and even acknowledging the film journalism from that period. The director effectively portrayed Rekha's passion for cinema and her admiration for Mammootty. The narration makes us aware of the murderer, but it tries to show how or why he carried out the deed.

What did not work for the film:
Although the film presents an interesting plot, it struggles with pacing at various points. The first half could have been much stronger. The process of the hero discovering the truth is lengthy, and although it features an engaging hook, it doesn't deliver the strong impression one might expect.

Rekhachitram Review and Verdict:
A good investigative drama that offers a fascinating story. Even with pacing issues, the film executes the crucial parts effectively. The second half is more engaging. Blending an old Malayalam film with the film's story presents an interesting idea.
