What prompted Krishna to go there? The story follows Krishna as he falls for Raja, the lone girl in the village, and how he helps its residents.
Performances:
Pradeep Machiraju chooses a role that fits his age and character. He doesn't stand out as a character, yet performs adequately in romantic parts. The story centers on Deepika's role, yet she has limited acting opportunities apart from some romance in the first half.
Satya provides laughs as the hero's sidekick with his impeccable timing. Getup Seenu also entertains whenever he gets the opportunity. Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, and Brahmanandam show up briefly and perform fine. Muralidhar Gaud acts as usual. Rohini seeks to add depth to her character at the end, but poor writing holds her back.
What worked for the film:
Nitin and Bharath directed Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi. It's a rom-com and coming-of-age story backed up by humor and a small message. The story shifts to the city after the opening in the village, introducing the hero and his character. These parts lack quality, but the narrative improves upon returning to the village. The first half emphasizes comedy and gags based on the established premise, along with the romance of the main characters. It entertains despite flawed logic.
What did not work for the film:
The latter part shifts to a city where the hero faces a bizarre and silly challenge. The humor aligns with it, yet fails to deliver the same punch as the first half. After the interval, romance takes a back seat. The time spent on the hero's character doesn't contribute to the story. Things seem stagnant until a sudden fire accident rushes ending a message. It appears abrupt and unnatural.
Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi Review and Verdict:
Initially, Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi entertains with good comedy, but it starts to drag and lose appeal in the latter half. The second half's proceedings required better writing that could have helped the film find a proper finish.
