Story:

This touching drama follows a Sri Lankan family that flees to Tamil Nadu to start a new life. The film explores their interactions with others and the challenges they face.

Performances:

Sasikumar delivers a superb performance as a good man again, after Ayothi and Garudan. It seems that the actor is becoming a care of address for too good to be characters. Simran is a great addition to this joyful family of four and adds charm to her character. Mithun Jai Shankar has some strong moments, but the standout is the young Kamalesh Jagan. He has a strong presence and excellent comic timing. Yogi Babu, MS Bhaskar, Elango Kumaravel, and others fit well to their characters and give a natural impact.

What worked for the film:

Tourist Family, the movie, balances light and serious moments well. Often, a serious scene follows a laughable moment. The gut-wrenching scene of one character's death in the first half and the father-son scene in the second half stand out, and the latter one is undoubtedly the best episode in the film. The emotional scenes resonate, and the humor is mostly effective. The music enhances the feel in almost every scene.

What did not work for the film:

The intentions of the director, Abishan Jeevinth, are honest. But the way everything unfolds positively for the main character and his family looks a bit convenient. This is not a big minus point for the film, but it can be a point of bother for people who cannot withstand such positive feelings throughout the narration.

Tourist Family Review and Verdict:

Abishan Jeevinth's Tourist Family offers a heartfelt experience. The lovely blend of funny and touching moments feels seamless. The innocence and honesty in the characters contribute greatly to the story's sincere nature and bring the required effect.
