Story:

Chaitanya (Vikranth) is a software employee and an introvert who struggles to talk to women. One day, he unexpectedly helps Kalyani (Chandini Chowdary), and that small interaction slowly grows into love. The couple decides to get married, even though Kalyani’s father (Muralidhar Goud) strongly opposes the match. After their wedding, Chaitanya discovers that he has a low sperm count. The rest of the film concentrates on how this issue affects the lives of Chaitanya and Kalyani.

Performances:

Vikranth is alright in the character of Chaitanya, and he looked more comfortable in fun scenes than emotional parts. His chemistry with Chandini Chowdary performs beautifully; she looks natural and fits perfectly in the emotional scenes. Muralidhar Goud is natural in the character of the heroine's father, while Abhinav Gomatam and Vennela Kishore bring good laughs whenever they appear on screen.

What Works:

Male or female infertility is a sensitive subject, but director Sanjeev Reddy handles it with good humour and without any vulgarity. He never crosses the line and keeps the storytelling clean and entertaining. The way he delivers simple yet effective fun parts, both in the first half and the second half, is impressive.

What doesn't work:

The initial parts appear slow, and the love track in the first half is also not that great. Coming to the emotional parts, Sanjeev Reddy missed the chance to take them to the next level. The regular scenes where the hero tries to keep an important matter a secret from his wife and the chaotic situations he faces and ultimately decides to sacrifice his feelings do not match the weight of such a sensitive issue.

Santhana Prapthirasthu Review and Verdict:

Sanjeev Reddy’s Santhana Prapthirasthu takes a light-hearted approach to the topic of male infertility. The humor works well, mostly, with many jokes hitting the mark, and though the proceedings become predictable toward the end, the film remains an enjoyable watch.
