Pawan Kalyan - A trouble maker for film makers?

Pawan Kalyan, a name that started as a mere shadow to his elder brother Megastar Chiranjeevi didn’t take long to make a name for himself and get a following which would be a dream for many.

His early career ignited his image with blockbuster content making him a huge star, so much so that he commands immense authority on his projects. And this now has become an issue for his producers and directors. It is already known that the actor floated a political party named Janasena and has been one of the reasonably active participants in politics in Andhra Pradesh. These political activities take their own time and overlapped with his movie space, tampered with the planned shooting schedules of movies like Vakeel Saab, Bheemla Nayak, and more recently, Hari Hara Veera Mallu. These uncalled-for changes in schedules for producers have left them losing considerable bucks but they haven’t had in them to stand up to the hero owing to his sheer star power. The not-so-strong star cast in those movies has also helped the hero’s cause in changing schedules per will.

But this has turned out to be checkmate for Hari Hara Veera Mallu now as the movie’s completion now stands at crossroads, unsure of what the future unfolds. The hero has forced a schedule change at least once when he was busy with other activities and while the actor was available a few days back, the dates of the other cast weren’t adjusted and so the schedule has been called off. A lot of news has been doing rounds in the film circles about budget, unsatisfactory content, etc. but who’d have known what’d have happened if the shooting of the film had gone ahead as planned.

Not just this but the future of yet another announced film of his, ‘Bhavadeeyudu Bhagath Singh’ looks to be in the soup now as the hero has pushed this down his priority to complete a remake movie. Director Harish Shankar and production house Mythri Movie Makers are making a strong attempt to get confirmation from the hero on the future of this movie. Shouldn’t this movie happen, the loss to director Harish Shankar would be big in terms of his investment in time for the project as he’s been waiting for years now for this project.

In short, it hasn’t been a jolly ride for the directors and producers of the hero given all his other commitments. On the other hand, it is also sending out a message that the hero isn’t committed to his work, a message which doesn’t help his fading image in the neutral audience already.

The actor has many times mentioned that cinema is his only source of income and that he will continue to do films to keep him and his party afloat. But this uncertainty with projects and shooting schedules will be a red flag for producers, something which the hero will have to take notice of and address at the earliest before it inflicts irreversible damage.

And according to the latest information, Pawan Kalyan has put all of his film commitments on hold as his focus has shifted from films to politics. HHVM has been stopped temporarily & Vinodaya Sitham remakes regular shoot has also been put on hold. He will take more time to decide on the shooting dates for these two projects. Now we'll have to wait and watch how things unfold in the future. Finally, Pawan Kalyan should find the right balance between his profession and politics otherwise it will be very problematic for filmmakers who work with him.
