Story:

Jassi, portrayed by Ajay Devgn, is a self-righteous Sikh man who is waiting for his UK visa so he can see his wife (Neeru Bajwa). She announces she wants a divorce when he eventually gets to travel to Scotland. Jassi is taken aback by the choice and, after consulting with a family member, chooses to consult a divorce attorney. But in a fortuitous meeting, he finds himself seated across from Pakistani dancer Rabia (Mrunal Thakur), who has also recently been dumped by her husband (Chunky Panday). Rabia allows Jassi to live as a tenant with Danish's daughter Saba (Roshni Walia), as well as troupe members Mehwish (Kubbra Sait) and Gul (Deepak Dobriyal). The rest of the story is how Jassi navigates through many hilarious/messy situations alongside Rabia.

Performances:

Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur try their best to work out the scenes, but except for some scenes/dialogues here and there, they do not have much to excel at. Ravi Kishan and Deepak Dobriyal provide some good laughs, and they could have done so better if the characters had been given good scope. Kubbra Sait, Sanjay Mishra, Chunky Pandey, Neeru Bajwa, Vindu Dara Singh, Sharat Saxena, Ashwini Kalsekar, and others are alright.

What worked for the film:

The only good moment/episode in the entire film is the scene where Ajay Devgn uses the film Border and mouths the dialogues of Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, and Jackie Shroff. The situation and timing of Devgn are too good in this scene. The second half has some better laughable moments, including the tricky relationship reveals towards the climax.

What did not work for the film:

From start to end, it looks like the film Son of Sardaar 2 is in a race to become the most disorganized film. It never gives the required natural comedy errors kind of situation and just moves with a scene-after-scene approach, which never lets the audience get involved in the proceedings.

No one cares about Jassi and Rabia's struggles, as the film itself does not want to portray them as problems and makes them run through a series of chaotic incidents, which were meant to be funny, but they do land only a few times. The climax, which starts on a good note, turns dramatic and preachy and needlessly gets dragged for another five minutes after all the conflicts get resolved.

Son of Sardaar 2 Review and Verdict:

Vijay Kumar Arora's Son Of Sardaar 2 had the potential to be a laugh riot, but it falls short because of its lack of narrative coherence and chaotic proceedings. Apart from a few well-crafted humorous moments, the film remains inconsistent and sloppy throughout.
