Story:
Set in 2010, the film unfolds in a remote village near the Khammam-Warangal border. It follows Raju, a band player at weddings, and Rambai, a college student. The two fall in love but face several challenges in their journey to be together. Despite many obstacles, they stand strong until fate delivers a shocking twist that changes everything.
Performances:
Akhil Uddemari shines as Raju, delivering a powerful and emotional performance. Tejaswi plays her role sincerely, while Chaitu Jonnalagadda makes a strong impact as the manipulative father. Shivaji Raja, Anitha Chowdhary, and others fit well into their roles.
What Works:
Debut director Saailu Kaampati makes a sincere effort with Raju Weds Rambai. His screenplay is engaging, and the way he sets up the village backdrop feels authentic. The chemistry between the lead pair works well, with both fun and emotional scenes leaving a mark. The interval sequence builds good tension, and the climax delivers a surprising and intense twist. The music adds depth, especially the song Rambai Nee Meeda Naaku, which becomes the emotional heart of the film.
What Doesn’t Work:
Some of the conflicts between the families and the problems faced by the couple feel predictable. A few scenes in the second half seem dragged out. Key moments, like the heroine agreeing to get pregnant could have been portrayed more effectively. The heroine’s father, who starts off as a strong threat, does not continue the impact for a while and only reappears near the climax, missing a chance for stronger impact.
Raju Weds Rambai Review And Verdict:
Raju Weds Rambai is a heartfelt rural love story with realistic settings, solid performances, and good music. While the narration has a few slow and uneven patches, the film leaves a strong impression with its emotional depth and an unsettling climax.
