Story:

Big Bull (Sanjay Dutt) is an international crime lord, and he finds himself in big trouble as he faces a terminal diagnosis of glioma. A scientist proposes a radical solution: the transfer of his memories to another person’s brain, potentially granting him immortality. They find Shankar (Ram Pothineni), the local gangster in Hyderabad, as a perfect choice for the surgery. How Shankar behaves after the memory transfer and what is the main connection between him and Big Bull is the main crux of the story.

Performances:

Ram Pothineni reprises his role as iSmart Shankar, and similar to the original film, he delivers an energetic performance in the sequel. Kavya Thapar appears alongside Ram as the female lead, and her character is not that great. She looked gorgeous in the two songs, though. Sanjay Dutt is suited as a Mafia Don, but his performance is just okay, and he does not have much scope to excel or show any versatility as Big Bull. Ali was not able to impress with his absurd comedy. Shiyaji Shinde and others were appropriate.

What worked for the film:

Though the writing failed him, Ram Pothineni was able to make a few episodes or scenes in the film bearable. The Interval and Climax episodes' setting is interesting, though they are surrounded by predictable twists.

What did not work for the film:

The establishment of the villain and his problem was well done at the initial stage. But the game between Big Bull and Shankar was not at all handled properly. Both of them just indulge in some senseless interactions that neither provide entertainment nor evoke any intrigue. The love track was also poorly handled, as it only concentrates on providing sexual innuendos without proper lead. The mother track, which should have been the biggest strength of the film, comes across as an outdated and shallow one.

Double iSmart Review and Verdict:

Double Ismart fails to entertain. Ram Pothineni makes a few episodes work, but the overall impact does not change much because of the silly execution. The core point sounds interesting, but it was not handled properly. The motherly sentiment angle also falls flat, and Ali's comedy is horrible.
